Success In Business: Stress and Our Immune System with Tara Eaton

The Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce a new chamber member benefit: Success in Business Seminars - learn over lunch. The Success in Business (SIB) monthly speaker series features a curriculum focused on helping chamber members build critical business skills. Sessions include navigating a tricky human resources issue, closing the sale, effective networking techniques and learning how to communicate more effectively in the workplace. Success in Business is designed to provide an engaging program for business professionals at all levels. 

About this event

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: This seminar will explore what stress is and how it can impact our bodies. More importantly, it will dive into how the immune system can become compromised with chronic stress.

When: Tuesday, May 18, 12 – 1 PM

Cost: FREE benefit of Chamber of Commerce membership

Who should attend: This is a great topic for everyone. Dealing with work and personal stress is always a concern and may be even more so now. The pandemic has affected us all in some way and may have increased stress levels. 

 

About the Speaker

Tara Eaton

Tara Eaton currently works as a wellness specialist and fitness specialist at Great River Medical Center and as an adjunct instructor at Monmouth College. She graduated with a Bachelors in Exercise Science and Wellness and Masters in Exercise Physiology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is a Certified Exercise Physiologist through ACSM and 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and has worked in the fitness field for 13 years. 

Tara taught Kinesiology and Health courses at The University of Texas at Tyler for five years and then returned to Iowa to be close to family. She loves helping others explore their personal health and fitness journey. Stress management is one of her favorite topics to cover because there is such a wide variety of options to choose. Stress is something everyone has, yet so many struggle with how to cope with it.
